Branding That’s Sweet Enough to Eat

A bold, joyful identity for Treats To You — capturing the colourful, nostalgic magic of everyone’s favourite local sweet shop.

[Overview]

Treats To You is a local sweet shop bursting with colour, nostalgia, and personality — and they needed a brand identity to match. The goal was to create something bold, fun, and instantly recognisable, while still feeling approachable and family-friendly.

I was brought on to design a new logo, business cards, and stickers that captured the excitement of walking into a sweet shop — that “kid in a candy store” feeling! Having worked part-time with the company, I had a strong understanding of their day-to-day operations and their wonderfully loyal customer base. This insight helped shape a brand identity that truly reflected who they are: bright, friendly, and full of joy.

[Project]

The sketching phase was all about brainstorming fun, friendly, and eye-catching ideas that captured the spirit of Treats To You. Having worked part-time with the company, I had first-hand insight into how the business operated and who their customers were — sweet-loving shoppers looking for something bright, bold, and full of personality!

Two main sketch concepts stood out. The first used letters made of sweets, giving the design a playful, sugary edge. The second explored an unrolling licorice wheel idea. Ultimately, the first option won — it instantly felt more distinctive and better reflected the brand’s vibrant, joyful energy.

The final Treats To You logo is designed to be striking, bold, and impossible to miss. The playful inline typography gives it a fun retro vibe, while the two ‘o’s have been replaced with sweets — one inspired by Love Hearts and the other by a lollipop.

The background features classic blue and white stripes, reminiscent of traditional Pick ‘N’ Mix sweet bags. While the brand also uses pink-and-white stripes in-store, the blue variation offered contrast and inclusivity — appealing to both boys and girls while keeping things fresh and nostalgic.

To make sure the brand left a lasting impression, I designed a bold, double-sided business card in a striking deep pink.

  • Front: The Treats To You logo paired with fun illustrations of sweets, bags, and a chocolate bar.

  • Back: The logo again, along with key business info — location, phone number, and social media handles.

It’s playful, bright, and designed to stand out in any wallet or purse (just like a favourite treat!).

The branding extended beyond business cards — Treats To You also wanted stickers to help market their products on shelves. Since they stock items like cards, candles, and gifts from other brands (Boofle, Yankee Candle, and Woodwick), these stickers needed to pop.

Two versions were created: one with a deep pink background and another with white. The pink option was ultimately chosen, as it made the logo stand out beautifully on packaging. The middle mockup shows how the stickers look in action — bright, cheerful, and perfectly on-brand.
